Netflix's One Piece will need creator's approval

There has been much speculation regarding the release date of Netflix's One Piece Live Action adaptation, particularly considering the series has been in the works since 2017 and has gone through a series of production challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

Not only that, but since then, anime adaptations done by Netflix haven't been well-received, namely Death Note and Cowboy Beepop. It seems Live-Action anime adaptations were something that couldn't be done tastefully and faithfully to appease both new fans and veteran fans of these beloved franchises.

Nevertheless, the One Piece Live Action adaptation carried on, despite everything, and now, almost six years later, fans are wondering, after all, when will it be released?

There were reports earlier this year that some actors were still shooting scenes, so fans were hopeful this meant the series hadn't been cancelled after all.

Well, a new update was just posted on Twitter earlier this week. The series' original creator, Eiichiro Oda, who is personally involved in the production of the adaptation, for the delight of fans across the world, wrote a heartfelt note, reassuring them that very soon the show would be here. He also mentioned that the series "won't launch until I'm satisfied."

Furthermore, the note mentions the production for the series hasn't stopped at all, and they are all "hard at work", and it stressed again that the series would have 8 episodes in total.

Hopefully, this means Netflix will release the One Piece Live-Action on its platform soon.
