Old fan favorites reunite to spark the flame of hype among MCU fans in the new Daredevil show. After several different appearances by Charlie Cox, the main star in the 2015 Netflix series, in various MCU installments, such as Spiderman and She-Hulk, and even an appearance by Vincent D'Onofrio, the "Kingpin" in the original show, in Hawkeye, fans were wondering if these appearances would be the last they would see of these beloved actors in these iconic roles.

However, after Charlie Cox's Daredevil gathered quite some attention as a potential love interest for Tatiana Maslany's She-Hulk in her series, both being lawyers by day and vigilantes by night, we were met with news regarding a new installment of the Daredevil franchise, called Daredevil: Born Again. This new series would follow a new Daredevil, closer to the one we saw alongside She-Hulk, and now, it's March 2023 and more iconic cast members have been confirmed in it.
Not only can we count with Charlie Cox returning as Daredevil, but also Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. If Mike Colter and Finn Jones return as Luke Cage and Danny Rand, then we'll have the complete Defenders set, besides the Punisher as the cherry on top. Unfortunately, there have also been rumors that state that the beloved character of Foggy Nelson wouldn't be played by Elden Henson.
Also confirmed as cast members, we have Margarita Levieva, Sandrine Holt, Nikki M. James, and Michael Gandolfini in undisclosed roles.
In production, Matt Corman and Chris Ord have been called in as writers, both former brains of the TV Show Covert Affairs. There are rumors regarding writers from The Flash universe joining the team, but nothing confirmed yet.
As if this is a continuation of the previous Netflix show, Charlie Cox stated in an interview that not only this is a "Season 1, not a Season 4", but also that the overall mood of his latest works in the MCU universe point to a different sort of Daredevil:
"The Matt Murdock from the Netflix show, that world and what was going on for Matt meant that most of the time we were living with a man who had a huge amount of pressure and strain, and tonally the show was very dark and gritty and heavy. I don't know what the new show will be like, but when I came over to do Spider-Man and She-Hulk, the tone is much more lighthearted and tongue in cheek and fun and witty and full of levity, so the hope was that Matt can fit into that world and participate in it without it being a different character, a different person. I certainly had a really good time exploring that, experimenting with it, and seeing if it fit"
The expectations are that the new Daredevil: Born Again show has already begun filming, in February this year, and will finish the shoot in December. The closest date we can expect to see this new show is Spring 2024, probably over at Disney +, the standard platform for MCU works.
