Pyo Ji-hoon

Pyo Ji-hoon, known professionally as P.O, is a South Korean rapper, singer, actor, and television personality. Born on February 2, 1993, he debuted in 2011 as a member of the seven-piece hip-hop idol group Block B. The group’s early releases included the mini album New Kids on the Block, and its 2012 single “NalinA” became one of the songs associated with Block B’s boisterous performance style. Within Block B, P.O has been credited as a rapper and lyricist, alongside members including Zico, Taeil, B-Bomb, Jaehyo, U-Kwon, and Kyung. His solo discography includes the 2017 mini album Men’z Night, led by “We Don’t Care,” and the 2018 single “Good Day,” featuring Paloalto. P.O also appeared on Block B Bastarz releases; Bastarz is the group’s subunit with P.O, B-Bomb, and U-Kwon. In 2019, he released the digital single “Comme des Garçons,” whose title references the fashion label. P.O expanded his public profile through acting. He played Kang Min-ho in the 2017 television drama Temperature of Love and appeared as Hwang Gyu-young in Encounter (2018–2019), starring Park Bo-gum and Song Hye-kyo. In tvN’s fantasy drama Hotel del Luna (2019), he portrayed Ji Hyun-joong, the hotel’s bellman, a ghost employed at the establishment run by Jang Man-wol. He later played the detective Na Chi-kook in the 2021 thriller Mouse. In the second season of Yumi’s Cells (2022), he joined as the illustrator Control Z, also called Yoo Babi’s colleague. On variety television, P.O became a familiar cast member on tvN’s New Journey to the West, beginning with season five in 2018. He also joined the regular cast of Amazing Saturday in 2019, where participants try to transcribe song lyrics correctly to win food from a featured market. His recognizable comic reactions and games with fellow cast members helped make him a recurring presence on the program. In 2021, P.O made his stage-musical debut in the Korean production of The Great Comet, playing Anatole Kuragin. He enlisted for mandatory military service in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps on March 28, 2022, and was discharged on September 27, 2023. After discharge, he resumed entertainment activities, including returning to Amazing Saturday. His path from Block B’s youngest member to actor, variety regular, and musical performer has unfolded across Korean pop music, television drama, unscripted entertainment, and theater. His credits show a varied career rather than a single medium, linking recorded music with ensemble performance and broadcast comedy.
