Edit reference

Hiroyuki Yoshino is a Japanese voice actor and singer born on February 6, 1974, in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. He is affiliated with Sigma Seven, and has worked across television animation, original video animation, theatrical releases, games, and drama CDs. His credited work includes major roles in Mobile Suit Gundam 00, SKET DANCE, My Hero Academia, Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, and Bungo Stray Dogs. Yoshino is also a recording artist in Kiramune, the label and live-event project for male voice actors. His recorded releases have included albums and mini-albums issued by Kiramune. He has also appeared at the label’s concerts regularly. His activities include the 2013 mini album Get Set and 2014 album Charge. In Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Yoshino plays Allelujah Haptism, one of Celestial Being’s Gundam Meisters. The character’s story involves a childhood shaped by the Human Reform League’s Super Soldier program and the emergence of his violent alternate personality, Hallelujah. Yoshino therefore voices both sides of a divided character as the television series follows Celestial Being’s armed interventions and the political consequences around them. He returned to the role for the 2010 film Mobile Suit Gundam 00: A Wakening of the Trailblazer. The film continues Allelujah’s involvement in Celestial Being when Earth confronts the alien ELS. Another long-running role is Hizashi Yamada, better known by his hero name Present Mic, in My Hero Academia. Present Mic is U.A. High School’s English teacher and an announcer whose amplified voice is also a Quirk. Yoshino has played the part in the television anime and in My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, the 2018 feature film. His performance gives the faculty member a deliberately broadcast-like rhythm, matching a character who provides commentary during U.A. events. In SKET DANCE, he voices Yusuke Fujisaki, called Bossun, the founder and leader of Kaimei High School’s Sket Dan. The club accepts student requests, and Bossun’s goggles, concentration, and improvised problem-solving are recurring elements of the series. Yoshino also voices Ranta in Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, the 2016 television anime adapted from Ao Jyumonji’s light novels. Ranta is a volunteer soldier whose abrasive behavior creates friction within the party struggling to survive after awakening in an unfamiliar world. In Bungo Stray Dogs, Yoshino voices Mark Twain, a member of the American group called the Guild. These credits show how his career joins franchise installments with ensemble television storytelling rather than being limited to a single character type or medium.
