About Upwelling

Upwelling, Enchantment, designed by John Avon first released in May, 2003 in the set Scourge and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.

A deck that focuses on ramping up mana quickly and efficiently, such as a green ramp deck or a mana dork-heavy strategy, would benefit greatly from using Upwelling as it allows players to retain unspent mana throughout the game, enabling bigger plays and more flexibility in spellcasting. While Upwelling can be a powerful tool in certain strategies, there are better options available such as Omnath, Locus of Mana, which not only allows players to keep their unspent mana but also grows in power as they accumulate more mana. Whether or not Upwelling should see play ultimately depends on the specific deck and strategy being employed, but it can certainly be a valuable addition in the right circumstances.

Rules

10/01/09

Players can keep mana in their pool indefinitely while this is on the battlefield, but once it leaves the battlefield, they have until the end of the current step (or phase) to use the mana before it disappears.
