The Tolarian Scholar can be a valuable addition to a control deck in Magic: the Gathering, providing card advantage and a solid blocker early in the game. However, there are more powerful options available such as Snapcaster Mage or Jace, the Mind Sculptor that offer additional utility and impact. While the Tolarian Scholar may not see play in competitive decks, it can still be a fun and flavorful choice for casual or themed decks.
