About Spreading Algae

Spreading Algae, Enchantment — aura, designed by Stephen Daniele first released in Oct, 1998 in the set Urza's Saga and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

A deck focused on land destruction or disruption would benefit from using Spreading Algae, as it can effectively destroy opponent's lands when enchanted. However, there are better options available such as cards like Sinkhole or Icequake which provide more immediate and impactful land destruction without the drawback of potentially returning to the owner's hand. Overall, Spreading Algae may not see much play in competitive decks due to its limitations and better alternatives.

Rules

04/01/08

This card now has Enchant Swamp, which works exactly like any other Enchant ability. This means it can only be cast targeting a Swamp, and it will be put into its owner’s graveyard if the permanent it’s attached to ever stops being a Swamp.
