This Smokespew Invoker card could be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on debuffing opponent creatures to gain board control. However, there are better options like Shriekmaw which not only has a similar effect but also has the added benefit of being able to destroy a creature when it enters the battlefield. Overall, while Smokespew Invoker could see some niche play, there are stronger alternatives available in the current card pool.
