About Safehold Sentry

Safehold Sentry, Creature — elf warrior, designed by William O'Connor first released in May, 2008 in the set Shadowmoor.

Safehold Sentry would be a good addition to a white weenie or aggro deck that focuses on quick, aggressive strategies. While its ability to buff its toughness can be useful for defense or combat tricks, there are better options available such as Student of Warfare or Soldier of the Pantheon that offer more versatile abilities or stronger stats for a similar cost. Safehold Sentry could see play in a budget deck or as a filler card, but may not be a top choice for competitive play.

Rules

05/01/08

If the permanent is already untapped, you can’t activate its ability. That’s because you can’t pay the “Untap this permanent” cost.

05/01/08

When you activate an ability, you untap the creature with that ability as a cost. The untap can’t be responded to. (The actual ability can be responded to, of course.)
