A deck focused on utilizing life as a resource, such as a black control or combo deck, would benefit from using Necropotence Avatar as it provides a consistent source of card advantage at the cost of life. However, there are better cards like Necropotence itself which offer similar card advantage without the life loss drawback, making Necropotence Avatar less optimal for competitive play but could still be fun in casual or themed decks.
