About Nantuko Monastery

Nantuko Monastery, Land, designed by Rob Alexander first released in May, 2002 in the set Judgment and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

A deck that benefits from graveyard synergies, such as a Golgari or Abzan graveyard recursion deck, would benefit from using Nantuko Monastery as it provides both mana acceleration and a potential threat if the threshold ability is activated. However, there are better options available for similar effects, such as Celestial Colonnade or Stirring Wildwood, which offer additional abilities like flying or vigilance. Nantuko Monastery could see play in niche graveyard-focused decks, but may not be a top choice in more competitive environments.

Rules

08/01/08

A noncreature permanent that turns into a creature can attack, and its abilities can be activated, only if its controller has continuously controlled that permanent since the beginning of their most recent turn. It doesn’t matter how long the permanent has been a creature.
