About Mistform Ultimus

Mistform Ultimus, Legendary creature — illusion, designed by Anthony S. Waters first released in Feb, 2003 in the set Legions and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

Mistform Ultimus would be a versatile addition to a tribal deck that benefits from creature type synergies, such as Merfolk, Elves, or Slivers. While Mistform Ultimus's ability to be every creature type can be useful for triggering tribal effects, it may not be as powerful as other options like Changelings, such as Chameleon Colossus or Mirror Entity, which can also change creature types and provide additional benefits. Whether Mistform Ultimus should see play would depend on the specific strategy and synergies of the deck, as well as the overall power level of the format it is being played in.

Rules

09/25/06

Mistform Ultimus has all creature types even if an effect removes its ability. Type-changing static abilities will apply in layer 4 before effects such as Sudden Spoiling’s remove them in layer 6.

09/25/06

The type “Illusion” is printed on the card’s type line purely for flavor. The Ultimus has every other creature type as well.
