Initiates of the Ebon Hand, Creature — cleric, designed by Kaja Foglio first released in Nov, 1994 in the set Fallen Empires and was printed exactly in 5 different ways.
This card could be beneficial in a mono-black aggressive deck that aims to quickly ramp up its mana for powerful plays. However, there are better options available such as Dark Ritual, which provides a one-time burst of mana without the drawback of sacrificing the creature. Initiates of the Ebon Hand may not see much play in competitive decks due to its limited utility and potential downside.

Mana which “changes color” as it goes through the Hand forgets its original source because the old mana gets used up and new mana gets generated.
