This card, Gilford the Lightning, would greatly benefit a deck focused on swarming the field with multiple monsters, such as a Warrior or a Tribute Summon deck. While its effect of destroying all monsters your opponent controls upon being Tribute Summoned is powerful, it may be situational due to the high cost of 3 tributes. Other cards like Obelisk the Tormentor or Dark Magician of Chaos offer similar board-clearing effects with potentially easier summoning conditions, making them potentially better options depending on the strategy of the deck. However, Gilford the Lightning could still see play in decks that can consistently generate multiple monsters on the field to take advantage of its devastating effect.
