A deck focused on controlling the board and disrupting your opponent's creature-based strategies would benefit from including Force of Despair. While it offers a powerful board wipe effect at a potentially reduced cost, other cards like Damnation or Toxic Deluge may provide more flexibility or efficiency in certain situations. Force of Despair could see play in sideboards or specific metagames where its unique ability to exile black cards for free could be particularly advantageous.

Force of Despair destroys all permanents that entered the battlefield this turn and are currently creatures. It doesn’t matter whether they were creatures as they entered the battlefield.
