About Dream Thief

Dream Thief, Creature — faerie rogue, designed by Howard Lyon first released in Jul, 2008 in the set Eventide.

Dream Thief fits well in a blue-based control or tempo deck that focuses on casting multiple spells in a turn, as it rewards you for playing another blue spell by allowing you to draw a card upon its entry. This synergizes particularly well with cards like Delver of Secrets and Snapcaster Mage, which encourage a fast-paced game with frequent spellcasting. While Dream Thief is solid, cards like Siren Stormtamer or Spellstutter Sprite might be considered better options due to their additional utility or disruptive capabilities. Nevertheless, Dream Thief can still see play in casual or budget decks, especially if you enjoy the faerie theme or want to maintain card advantage in a blue spell-heavy strategy.

Rules

08/01/08

Dream Thief doesn’t check whether you’ve cast another blue spell until its enters-the-battlefield ability resolves. If Dream Thief’s enters-the-battlefield ability triggers, then you cast a blue instant spell in response, you’ll get the bonus.
