About Avenging Angel

Avenging Angel, Creature — angel, designed by Matthew D. Wilson first released in Oct, 1997 in the set Tempest and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

A deck that focuses on stalling the game and controlling the board would benefit from using Avenging Angel, as it provides a recurring threat that can be difficult for opponents to deal with. While Avenging Angel's ability to return to the top of its owner's library can be useful for card advantage, there are potentially better options in white for a similar mana cost, such as Baneslayer Angel or Lyra Dawnbringer, which offer more immediate impact and resilience. Whether Avenging Angel should see play depends on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck it's included in.

Rules

04/01/08

This has been restored as a triggered ability that triggers when it is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, rather than a replacement effect. The Angel does go to the graveyard, and will trigger any other abilities that look for this event.
