Aven Augur would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's board state by bouncing key creatures back to their hand. However, there are better options like Reflector Mage or Deputy of Detention that offer more versatile removal options. Aven Augur may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its limited impact compared to other available cards.
