This card, Pillar of Light, would be beneficial in a white control deck that aims to remove high-toughness creatures efficiently. While it is a decent removal option for creatures with toughness 4 or greater, there are more versatile and powerful removal spells available in Magic: the Gathering, such as Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares, which are more commonly played in competitive decks.
