Tragic Lesson would work well in a blue control deck that seeks card advantage. It can help dig through the deck, drawing two cards for a low cost, and potentially filter out unwanted cards by discarding one or resetting a land for more flexibility. However, there are better options like Hieroglyphic Illumination or Chemister's Insight that provide card draw without the downside of discarding or bouncing lands, making them more consistent choices. Overall, Tragic Lesson could be situational in specific deck builds but might not see as much play compared to other alternatives.
