About Scavenging Ghoul

Scavenging Ghoul, Creature — zombie, designed by Jeff A. Menges first released in Aug, 1993 in the set Limited Edition Alpha and was printed exactly in 13 different ways.

This card would be beneficial in a black-based control or midrange deck that focuses on creature removal and board control, as it can accumulate corpse counters quickly and provide a form of regeneration to protect itself. However, there are better options such as Gravecrawler or Bloodghast that offer more consistent value and utility in various strategies, making Scavenging Ghoul less likely to see play in competitive decks unless in a specific synergy-driven zombie tribal deck.

Rules

10/04/04

The Ghoul still gets to claim counters even if it enters the battlefield after the creatures died.
