This Sauroform Hybrid card would benefit a green-based midrange deck that focuses on adapting creatures to become bigger threats over time. While it can be a solid inclusion in such a deck, there are potentially better options like Steel Leaf Champion or Vine Mare that offer more immediate impact or protection. However, Sauroform Hybrid could still see play in a deck looking to create a resilient and growing threat on the battlefield.

You can always activate an ability that will cause a creature to adapt. As that ability resolves, if the creature has a +1/+1 counter on it for any reason, you simply won’t put any +1/+1 counters on it.
