Retromancer could be a valuable addition to a red aggressive deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's strategy by punishing them for targeting your creatures. While its ability to deal damage to the controller of spells or abilities targeting it can be a deterrent, other cards like Spellskite or Giver of Runes offer more versatile protection options and are often preferred in competitive play.
