About Resolute Survivors

Resolute Survivors, Creature — human warrior, designed by David Palumbo first released in Jul, 2017 in the set Hour of Devastation. It's a key card in 1 combos.

Resolute Survivors would be a great addition to a red-white aggro deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides a steady source of damage and life gain when exerted. However, there are potentially better cards for this type of deck, such as Glory-Bound Initiate or Combat Celebrant, which offer more immediate impact or additional combat steps. Whether Resolute Survivors should see play would depend on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck, but it could certainly find a place in a deck focused on exerting creatures for value.

Rules

04/18/17

All cards in the Amonkhet set that let you exert a creature let you do so as you declare it as an attacking creature, as do some of the cards in the Hour of Devastation set. You can’t do so later in combat, and creatures put onto the battlefield attacking can’t be exerted. Any abilities that trigger on exerting an attacking creature will resolve before blockers are declared.

04/18/17

If you gain control of another player’s creature until end of turn and exert it, it will untap during that player’s untap step.

04/18/17

You can’t exert a creature unless an effect allows you to do so. Similar effects that “tap and freeze” a creature (such as that of Decision Paralysis) don’t exert that creature.
