Reaper from the Abyss would be a strong addition to a black-heavy control deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures to trigger its morbid ability. While the high mana cost may be a drawback, the potential to repeatedly destroy non-Demon creatures can provide valuable removal in the late game. However, there are more efficient options available, such as Grave Titan or Massacre Wurm, which offer immediate impact and value for their mana cost, making them better choices for competitive play.

The morbid ability is mandatory. If you control the only non-Demon creature when the ability triggers, you must choose it as the target.
