Opal Caryatid would be beneficial in a White Enchantment-based deck that aims to control the board by transforming into a creature to defend against opponent's creature spells. However, there are potentially better options such as Starfield Mystic or Sphere of Safety that offer more consistent value in Enchantment decks, making Opal Caryatid a situational inclusion that may not see widespread play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks.

A noncreature permanent that turns into a creature can attack, and its abilities can be activated, only if its controller has continuously controlled that permanent since the beginning of their most recent turn. It doesn’t matter how long the permanent has been a creature.
