A deck that includes both Plains and Islands, such as a blue-white control deck, would benefit from using Glacial Fortress as it provides mana fixing and can help ensure consistent access to both colors. While Glacial Fortress is a solid option, there are better dual lands available in Magic: the Gathering, such as Hallowed Fountain, which can enter untapped if you pay 2 life, offering more flexibility in mana production. Whether Glacial Fortress should see play depends on the specific needs and constraints of the deck in question.
