About Giant Oyster

Giant Oyster, Creature — oyster, designed by Nicola Leonard first released in Oct, 1995 in the set Homelands and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

This card could be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on locking down opponent's creatures and disrupting their strategy. While Giant Oyster offers a unique form of creature control, there are more efficient options available such as Tamiyo, the Moon Sage or Frost Titan that provide similar effects with additional benefits, making them better choices for competitive play.

Rules

09/25/06

Activating the ability creates a continuous effect that works only as long as Giant Oyster remains tapped, a repeating delayed triggered ability that’s in effect only as long as Giant Oyster remains tapped, and a delayed triggered ability that triggers when Giant Oyster untaps or when it leaves the battlefield.

10/04/04

If the Oyster untaps during the draw step before its ability to add a -1/-1 counter resolves, the -1/-1 counter effect resolves and adds a -1/-1 counter after the -1/-1 counters are removed due to being untapped.
