Genju of the Fields, Enchantment — aura, designed by Greg Staples first released in Feb, 2005 in the set Betrayers of Kamigawa and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
This card could benefit a white control deck looking to gain incremental life and have a versatile threat. However, there are better options like Heliod, Sun-Crowned or Gideon Jura that offer more impactful abilities and consistency in a competitive setting. Genju of the Fields may not see much play in high-level Magic: The Gathering tournaments, but it could find a home in casual or budget decks that value its unique abilities.

Activating the ability that turns it into a creature while it’s already a creature will override any effects that set its power and/or toughness to a specific number. However, any effect that raises or lowers power and/or toughness (such as the effect created by Giant Growth, Glorious Anthem, or a +1/+1 counter) will continue to apply.

When activated multiple times, it will have the triggered ability multiple times. When the animated Plains deals damage, the ability will trigger once for each copy of the ability. If, for example, you activate the ability three times, the Plains will deal two damage, and you’ll gain six life.
