Eager Glyphmage fits best in a white-based token or go-wide deck, especially in Limited (such as Strixhaven draft) where creating multiple bodies from one card is strong for board presence, sacrifice synergies, or anthem effects; the 1/1 flying Inkling token adds evasion and works well with cards that reward creature count or death triggers. However, at four mana for a 2/2 plus a 1/1 flyer, it is generally below rate for Constructed formats, where more efficient options exist—cards like Wedding Announcement, Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, or even Lingering Souls generate more pressure or value for similar or lower cost, and token-focused decks typically prefer those. As a result, Eager Glyphmage is playable and solid in Limited and very casual token builds, but it is unlikely to see competitive Constructed play due to stronger, more efficient alternatives.
