A dragon tribal deck in a red-heavy Commander or casual Magic: the Gathering deck would benefit from using Dragon Tyrant due to its powerful abilities, such as flying, trample, double strike, and the ability to pump its power. However, its high mana cost and the upkeep cost make it a risky inclusion, as there are more efficient dragon cards like Scourge of the Throne or Utvara Hellkite that offer similar power levels without the upkeep downside, making them potentially better options for competitive play.
