Devoted Druid, Creature — elf druid, designed by Darrell Riche first released in May, 2020 in the set Shadowmoor and was printed exactly in 6 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander. It's a key card in 32 combos.
A deck that focuses on mana ramp and combo strategies would benefit from using Devoted Druid, as it provides a consistent source of mana acceleration. However, a better alternative might be Vizier of Remedies, which can untap Devoted Druid without the -1/-1 counter drawback, enabling infinite mana combos. Devoted Druid is a strong card that can see play in decks looking for efficient mana generation and combo potential.

You put the -1/-1 counter on Devoted Druid as a cost to activate its ability, not when it resolves. If paying the cost causes Devoted Druid to have 0 toughness, it’s put into your graveyard before you can untap it and before you can even pay the cost again.
