Dampen Thought, Instant — arcane, designed by Arnie Swekel first released in Oct, 2004 in the set Champions of Kamigawa and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
A control deck that focuses on milling the opponent's library would benefit from using Dampen Thought due to its efficient cost and ability to chip away at the opponent's resources. However, there are potentially better options for mill strategies, such as Archive Trap, which has a more powerful milling effect when certain conditions are met. Dampen Thought could see play in a more budget-friendly or flexible mill deck, but may not be a top choice in competitive settings where more impactful mill cards are available.

You choose all targets for the spell after revealing cards you want to splice, including any targets required by the text of any of those cards. You may choose a different target for each instance of the word “target” on the resulting spell.

You reveal all cards you intend to splice at the same time. Each individual card can be spliced only once onto any one spell.
