About Carapace

Carapace, Enchantment — aura, designed by Anson Maddocks first released in May, 2020 in the set Homelands and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.

Carapace would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on protecting key creatures or creating a defensive strategy, such as a green-based aggro deck or a deck with a lot of high-value creatures that need protection. While Carapace can be useful for its low cost and ability to regenerate enchanted creatures, there are other cards like Rancor or Spider Umbra that offer similar benefits with additional advantages, making them potentially better options depending on the deck's strategy and needs. Ultimately, whether Carapace should see play would depend on the specific deck and its overall game plan.

Rules

10/04/04

This leaves the battlefield when you activate its activated ability, but the enchanted creature won’t be regenerated until the ability resolves. In the intervening time, the creature will no longer have the bonus that this had been giving it. This may cause the creature to be destroyed before the regeneration shield is created.
