About Tragic Poet

Tragic Poet, Creature — human, designed by Quinton Hoover first released in May, 2020 in the set Urza's Legacy and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

Tragic Poet is particularly beneficial in enchantment-heavy decks, especially those that utilize a lot of powerful enchantments that can be recurring threats or utility pieces, such as in a Selesnya (green-white) or Orzhov (white-black) build. It excels in decks that want to recycle key enchantments like Ethereal Absolution or Leyline Binding. While there are other cards that can return enchantments from the graveyard, such as Sun Titan or Archaeomancer, which can also return instants and sorceries, Tragic Poet's low cost and ability to be sacrificed for immediate effect make it a solid choice for enchantment-focused strategies. Overall, it should see play in those specific decks, particularly where recursion is crucial for maintaining board presence.
