Surtland Elementalist, Creature — giant wizard, designed by Nicholas Gregory first released in Dec, 2020 in the set Kaldheim.
This card would be a great fit in a Giant tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it synergizes well with other Giant creatures and allows for free casting of instant or sorcery spells when attacking. While Surtland Elementalist has its strengths, there may be better options depending on the specific strategy of the deck, such as Inferno Titan or Thundercloud Shaman for their immediate impact on the board. Overall, Surtland Elementalist could see play in the right deck, but its effectiveness may vary based on the overall game plan and synergy with other cards.

A Giant card is a creature card with the creature type Giant. Presumably, it will be the same size as all your other cards.

If you cast a spell “without paying its mana cost,” you can’t choose to cast it for any alternative costs. You can, however, pay additional costs, such as kicker costs. If the card has any mandatory additional costs, those must be paid to cast the spell.
