A deck that focuses on casting a high number of noncreature spells, such as a spell-slinging tempo or control deck, would benefit from including Stormchaser Mage. Its combination of flying, haste, and prowess makes it a versatile threat that can apply pressure on opponents quickly. However, in the current Magic: the Gathering card pool, there are stronger options for similar strategies, such as Delver of Secrets or Monastery Swiftspear, which may be more efficient choices for competitive play. Stormchaser Mage could still see play in more casual or budget decks looking for a solid aggressive creature with evasion.
