A deck that benefits from Serpentine Curve would be a control deck that focuses on casting a high number of instant and sorcery spells to increase the power of the Fractal creature token. However, there are better alternatives like Tarmogoyf or Death's Shadow that provide more consistent and powerful threats in various deck archetypes, making Serpentine Curve less likely to see play in competitive Magic: The Gathering formats.
