Petrified Wood-Kin, Creature — elemental warrior, designed by Kev Walker first released in Feb, 2006 in the set Guildpact.
This Petrified Wood-Kin card would be a great addition to a midrange or control deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides a strong threat that can't be countered and has protection from instants, making it difficult to deal with. The Bloodthirst ability also rewards aggressive play, encouraging players to deal damage to opponents before playing it. While there may be better options depending on the specific deck strategy, Petrified Wood-Kin could definitely see play in the right build.

“Protection from instants” means instant spells can’t target it, damage that would be dealt to it by instant sources is prevented, and it can’t be the target of abilities of instants (such as Haunt).
