A deck that focuses on controlling the board and disrupting the opponent's creatures would benefit from using Massacre. Decks that can easily meet the condition of having a Swamp while the opponent has a Plains would find this card particularly effective in clearing the board of small creatures. However, there are better options available, such as Damnation, which provides a more versatile board wipe effect for the same mana cost and without the conditional casting requirement.
