About Groundswell

Groundswell, Instant, designed by Chris Rahn first released in Feb, 2010 in the set Worldwake and was printed exactly in 5 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Casual.

Groundswell would be a great addition to a green aggressive deck that focuses on landfall triggers and pumping up creatures quickly. It can provide a significant boost to a creature's power and toughness, especially if you can consistently trigger the landfall ability. However, there are better cards like Vines of Vastwood that provide a similar effect but also offer protection from spells or abilities. Groundswell could see play in specific landfall-focused decks but might not be a staple in all green decks.

Rules

03/01/10

The effect of this spell’s landfall ability replaces its normal effect. If you had a land enter the battlefield under your control this turn, only the landfall-based effect happens.

03/01/10

The landfall ability checks for an action that has happened in the past. It doesn’t matter if a land that entered the battlefield under your control previously in the turn is still on the battlefield, is still under your control, or is still a land.

03/01/10

Whether you had a land enter the battlefield under your control this turn is checked as this spell resolves, not as you cast it.
