About Deathcap Cultivator

Deathcap Cultivator, Creature — human druid, designed by Karla Ortiz first released in May, 2020 in the set Shadows over Innistrad Promos and was printed exactly in 4 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.

Deathcap Cultivator would be a strong addition to a Golgari or Sultai graveyard-based deck that aims to fill the graveyard with multiple card types to enable its deathtouch ability. While it provides mana fixing and potential deathtouch, there are potentially better options like Birds of Paradise or Elves of Deep Shadow for mana ramp, and cards like Scavenging Ooze or Tarmogoyf for graveyard synergy. Whether Deathcap Cultivator should see play depends on the specific strategy and synergies of the deck, but it could be a solid inclusion in the right build.

Rules

04/08/16

If you have three noncreature card types among cards in your graveyard at the time damage is dealt by Deathcap Cultivator, and lethal damage is dealt to another creature you control at the same time, the damage from Deathcap Cultivator won’t be from a source with deathtouch.

04/08/16

In some rare cases, you can have a token or a copy of a spell in your graveyard at the moment that an object’s delirium ability counts the card types among cards in your graveyard, before that token or copy ceases to exist. Because tokens and copies of spells are not cards, even if they are copies of cards, their types will never be counted.

04/08/16

The number of card types matters, not the number of cards. For example, Wicker Witch (an artifact creature) along with Catalog (an instant) and Chaplain’s Blessing (a sorcery) will enable delirium.
