Subtle Strike would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on creature manipulation or +1/+1 counters, such as a Golgari or Abzan deck in Magic: the Gathering. While it offers versatility in both weakening an opponent's creature and strengthening your own, there are potentially better options like Assassin's Trophy or Dismember that provide more impactful removal or buffs. Subtle Strike could see play in certain situations where the flexibility is valued, but it may not be a staple in competitive decks.
