On Saturday night, on the 25th, actor Jonathan Majors was arrested and consequently charged with the minor charges of assault and aggravated harassment in Manhattan, New York. The charges came after the actor’s alleged girlfriend, who his representatives say ‘is a woman he knows’, went to the police that Saturday morning and reported the crime.
According to sources, they were riding home in a taxi after going out to a Brooklyn bar when the woman reportedly saw the star messaging another woman on his phone. When she peeked at his phone, Majors would have gotten mad and grabbed her hand, then slapped her and choked her, which would have caused the minor injuries she suffered.

The woman had visible injuries on her face and neck, including bruises and lacerations. She was taken to a nearby hospital after placing the complaint on Saturday morning, after the pair spent the night separately. Majors was arrested that same day.
Majors’ representatives have stated he has “done nothing wrong, is entirely innocent and did not assault her whatsoever,” and that they were working hard on “clearing his name”. Further video and witness evidence were cited by the representatives and Majors’ lawyer as undeniable proof the actor is innocent, and merely a “victim of an altercation with a woman he knows”. There were also reports of the woman having recanted the accusation.
Though the star was released without bail soon afterward, a court hearing was scheduled for May 8th, and besides the charges already mentioned, the woman was granted a limited order of protection.
Jonathan Majors is an upcoming successful actor in Hollywood. This year has been a busy one for the 33-year-old man, who co-starred in Creed III, and played a major role in Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
