A deck that focuses on controlling the board and disrupting the opponent's strategy would benefit from including Haphazard Bombardment, as it adds a random element of destruction to the game. However, there are more efficient cards like Oblivion Stone or Nevinyrral's Disk that offer similar board control without the randomness, making them better choices in most cases. Haphazard Bombardment could see play in casual or chaos-themed decks for its unpredictable nature, but in competitive settings, it may not be the most optimal choice.

Players can’t take actions between the time the permanent is randomly selected and the time it’s destroyed. Notably, if a land is randomly selected, it can’t be tapped for mana before being destroyed.
