The Hateful Eight, a Western directed by Quentin Tarantino, has spent more than 100 days among the most popular titles to rent or buy on platforms such as Prime Video and Apple TV. Its performance on VOD has kept the film in the spotlight years after its release, even though it is not among the director’s most talked-about works.

For subscription streaming, the film is available on MovieSphere, a Lionsgate service. Viewers can also rent or buy it from digital stores such as Prime Video and Apple TV.

Featuring Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell and Walton Goggins, The Hateful Eight follows a group of people taking shelter in a cabin during a blizzard. The film is not usually mentioned alongside titles such as Pulp Fiction and Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood, but continues to find an audience through digital platforms.

The news comes as Tarantino prepares his next project as a screenwriter. He wrote The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, which will see Brad Pitt return to the role that earned him an Oscar. Leonardo DiCaprio is not expected to return as Rick Dalton.

Tarantino also confirmed that he has written the screenplay for another film he would like to direct, but did not reveal details of the story or when he plans to begin production. An earlier idea about a film critic has apparently been shelved.

The director has not released a film since 2019’s Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood. For now, his next known project is The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth; details of the other screenplay remain under wraps.
