Bleach has unveiled the first images and synopsis for its final episode. Titled “Death & Strawberry,” episode 50 of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity takes place ten years after the battle against Yhwach and follows what happened to the three worlds during that time.

According to the synopsis, Seireitei gradually recovered from the destruction caused by the war to protect the Soul King. Reconstruction reaches the last affected area on the very day new captains are appointed to the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. During the ceremony, the Research and Development Department detects a disturbing spiritual pressure.

The episode is expected to adapt the epilogue of Tite Kubo’s manga, bringing to a close the story the anime began telling 22 years ago. Before reaching this final stretch, the series had ended without adapting the original work’s final arc. Its return finally gave that part of the story an animated adaptation.

The broadcast of the final two episodes also follows a one-month production hiatus. The penultimate episode concluded the confrontation with Yhwach; now, the time jump shows the consequences of the war and sets the stage for the characters’ farewell.

“Death & Strawberry” premieres on October 26 at 23:30 Eastern Time in the United States on Hulu and on Hulu through Disney+ in the country. Kubo published a short story after the manga ended that hints at the possibility of another arc, but it has not yet been announced whether the material will receive an anime adaptation.
