Disney has announced *Frozen 3*, but has not released a detailed plot synopsis. That distinction matters: descriptions of a new villain, a wedding, or another magical power should not be treated as established parts of the film.

The project became public in February 2023, when Disney chief executive Bob Iger said a third *Frozen* film was in development. He announced it alongside new installments of *Toy Story* and *Zootopia*. At Disney’s D23 presentation in August 2024, Jennifer Lee discussed *Frozen 3* and showed early concept art. She also said the filmmakers had more story than they could fit into one movie, and Disney confirmed that *Frozen 4* was in development. Those announcements establish that Disney is planning two further films, not that their stories or final titles have been disclosed.

Lee is closely connected to the series. She wrote the screenplay for the original *Frozen* and co-directed it with Chris Buck; the two also directed *Frozen II*. In 2024, Disney announced that Lee would step down as chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios to focus on directing and writing the next *Frozen* films. Jared Bush succeeded her in the executive role. Her continued involvement gives *Frozen 3* a direct creative link to both earlier movies, though it does not reveal what happens in the third one.

The last released film, *Frozen II*, ended with a significant change for its central characters. Elsa chose to remain in the Enchanted Forest after learning more about her powers and the history connecting Arendelle to the Northuldra. Anna became queen of Arendelle. The sisters were no longer living together in the castle, but the ending showed that they remained close. That is the established position of the characters at the end of the preceding film; Disney has not confirmed how *Frozen 3* will develop it.

Disney has set a November 24, 2027, theatrical release date for *Frozen 3*. Until a trailer, synopsis, or further production announcement supplies more detail, the verified picture is limited but clear: the film is an announced sequel, Jennifer Lee is working on it, a fourth film is also planned, and the story follows a second installment that left Anna ruling Arendelle and Elsa living in the Enchanted Forest. Specific claims about *Frozen 3*’s plot, songs, or ending would go beyond what Disney has publicly established.
