About Vulturous Aven

Vulturous Aven, Creature — bird shaman, designed by Kev Walker first released in Mar, 2015 in the set Dragons of Tarkir.

A deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures for value, such as a sacrifice or reanimator deck, would benefit from including Vulturous Aven. While it provides card advantage through drawing two cards, it also has the potential to synergize with other cards that benefit from sacrificing creatures. However, there are potentially better cards for this strategy, such as Grave Titan or Phyrexian Arena, which offer more consistent value without the need to sacrifice a creature upon entering the battlefield. Vulturous Aven could see play in specific decks looking to exploit its abilities, but its effectiveness may vary depending on the overall strategy and synergy within the deck.

Rules

02/25/15

A creature with exploit “exploits a creature” when the controller of the exploit ability sacrifices a creature as that ability resolves.

02/25/15

You can sacrifice the creature with exploit if it’s still on the battlefield. This will cause its other ability to trigger.

02/25/15

You can’t sacrifice more than one creature to any one exploit ability.
