About Liturgy of Blood

Liturgy of Blood, Sorcery, designed by Zack Stella first released in May, 2020 in the set Magic 2014 and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

A deck focusing on controlling the board and generating additional mana would benefit from including Liturgy of Blood, as it provides removal and mana ramp in one card. However, there are better options available such as Murder, which only costs 1 B B to destroy a creature without the mana generation, making it more efficient in most situations. Liturgy of Blood could see play in decks looking for additional mana sources, but may be overshadowed by more cost-effective removal spells in competitive play.

Rules

07/01/13

Liturgy of Blood isn’t a mana ability and uses the stack. Players can respond to it by casting spells and activating abilities.
